I hiked pretty solo all through my trip. On this day, I had to cross some water crossings on my own for the first time, remembering the times my husband helped me cross most of them. I still found some kind souls to be my company this day as I was the last hiker left in this place. Driving back from the trailhead, I stopped multiple times to get out and take photos - I guess my day was not over when I saw the sky turning pink and red for a short time. What a sweet surprise with asters! The pinkish, lavender asters took on the color of the sky to blend as one - as if they made a path that someone could walk to meet the sky. Oh heaven!
